“Chalo Kashmir” — A Poem of Healing, Hope, and Homecoming

Poem

By TheVOK – The Voice Of Kashmir
Inspired by Dr. Bilal Ahmad Bhat

Chalo Kashmir — the call rings clear,
From valley to peak, it’s time to reappear.
Not just a journey, not just a place,
But a healing rhythm, a soul’s embrace.

In the cradle of the Himalayan dream,
Where rivers whisper and meadows gleam,
Where chinars flame in autumn’s breath,
And silence sings where once was death—

Now rise the hopes, the songs, the skies,
With every snowflake truth replies.
Come, O wanderer, seeker, friend,
Kashmir is calling — let the sorrows end.

“Chalo Kashmir,” the campaign’s name,
More than tourism, it’s a sacred flame.
A movement woven with threads of grace,
To restore the spirit of a wounded place.

Launched with heart by TheVOK,
Where Dr. Bilal Ahmad Bhat lights the way—
A voice that echoes beyond the din,
Calling the world to step back in.

He dreams not just of scenic trails,
But peace that flows like Sufi tales.
Where artisans craft their timeless lore,
And saffron fields bloom hope once more.

Not a slogan — but a song of return,
For every heart that used to yearn.
For every soul that left in pain,
Let Kashmir be your home again.

The apple orchards now bear more than fruit,
They hold the memories taking root.
The Dal Lake mirrors skies anew,
Reflecting all that we’ve been through.

Let the shikara carry dreams across,
Let healing melt the bitter loss.
Come touch the wood of a walnut tree,
Come feel again what it means to be free.

“Chalo Kashmir” — the world must see,
This is not what it used to be.
Beyond the headlines, past the scars,
Lie healing winds beneath the stars.

Let storytellers roam the vale,
Let cameras roll on every tale.
Let pilgrims tread the temple stairs,
And skiers glide through winter prayers.

Let poets write in houseboat light,
Let lovers walk through dawn and night.
Let every visitor become a part
Of this valley’s deep, reborn heart.

Dr. Bilal Ahmad Bhat, a son of the soil,
Transforms past grief into hopeful toil.
Through TheVOK, he spreads the flame,
That Kashmir will never be the same.

Not a place of pity or sorrow’s shade,
But a symphony resiliently played.
Through every tear and every trial,
Rises Kashmir’s undying smile.

So Chalo Kashmir — come and see,
The land of faith, of warmth, of tea.
Where mountains speak and hearts reply,
Where peace is not a myth — but nigh.

Come for the snow, the flowers, the air,
But stay for the welcome that waits you there.
Stay for the stories, the people, the art,
Stay for the beat of a nation’s heart.

“Chalo Kashmir,” the banners fly,
Beneath the fir trees and open sky.
By train, by plane, by soul, by prayer —
The call is simple: just be there.

From Delhi’s lanes to London’s street,
Let this anthem the world repeat:
Come back home, O child of light,
To Kashmir’s dawn, from darkest night.

Let your footprints join the song,
Let your spirit know it’s where you belong.
For in this land of fire and snow,
Chalo Kashmir — and let love grow.
