SEPANG – The highly anticipated Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign was unveiled today in a grand ceremony at Hangar 6 of the MAB Engineering Complex. The event introduced a vibrant new logo, charming mascots, an inspiring theme song, and a captivating aircraft livery to mark Malaysia’s ambitious tourism vision.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim officiated the launch, joined by Deputy Prime Ministers Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Fadillah Yusof, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing, and Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, among other dignitaries.

Speaking at the event, Anwar expressed the government’s bold aspiration to attract 35.6 million international tourists by 2026. “This is an ambitious yet pragmatic and achievable goal. If we succeed, we expect to generate RM147.1 billion in revenue, significantly boosting the nation’s economy,” he said.

A Campaign Rooted in Identity and Conservation

The VM2026 campaign’s theme song, “Surreal Experiences,” sets a vibrant tone for the initiative, while its official icon, the Malayan sun bear, underscores Malaysia’s commitment to wildlife conservation. As an endangered species, the sun bear symbolizes Malaysia’s dedication to protecting biodiversity.

The campaign features two mascots, Wira and Manja, embodying inclusivity and diversity, reflecting Malaysia’s multicultural spirit and warm hospitality.

A Vision Beyond Tourism

Tourism Malaysia highlighted the campaign’s strategic goals: boosting tourism revenue, enhancing the nation’s global competitiveness, and positioning tourism as a significant contributor to Malaysia’s GDP.
“VM2026 is not just about tourism—it’s about job creation, strengthening Malaysia’s global image, and driving growth across multiple sectors,” the agency stated.

Partnerships to Propel VM2026 Forward

The launch also included the signing of key memorandums of collaboration with prominent partners such as Malaysia Aviation Group, AirAsia, Batik Air, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, Huawei, Mastercard, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, and Marriott International.

Exciting Events on the Horizon

As part of the campaign, the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2025, scheduled for February 8 at the iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, promises to draw over 20,000 participants. This high-energy event highlights Malaysia’s cultural vibrancy and appeal to global audiences.

With its ambitious plans and innovative approach, Visit Malaysia 2026 is set to showcase the nation’s unparalleled attractions and establish Malaysia as a premier global tourism destination.
