KUALA LUMPUR – Football fever is running high tonight as around 60,000 passionate fans are expected to pack Bukit Jalil Stadium to cheer for Malaysia in the crucial Asia Cup 2027 qualifier against Vietnam.
If you’re not heading to the match, Cheras deputy police chief Supt Ridzuan Khalid kindly asks everyone to steer clear of roads leading to the stadium to help ease traffic. He also encourages fans to take public transport to make the journey smoother and safer for everyone.
“Please listen to the police officers on duty and be patient and polite, especially when driving near the stadium,” Supt Ridzuan shared. “Avoid parking on the roads around the stadium entrances and exits — vehicles found blocking traffic will be fined and towed.”
The police are working hard behind the scenes to make sure everyone stays safe and the event runs smoothly. Strict security checks will be in place to prevent anyone from bringing in prohibited items like weapons, alcohol, or fireworks.
Gates will open at 5:30 pm, and fans should be prepared for body and bag checks before entering and when leaving the stadium.
“Safety is our top priority. We won’t hesitate to take action against anyone trying to cause trouble or start fights during or after the game,” Supt Ridzuan emphasized.
So whether you’re in the stadium or watching from home, let’s come together and enjoy a safe and exciting match!
