On August 10, 2024, Choudry Farooq Ahmad Bajad, the Sadar of Jammu and Kashmir for the Dabastan E-India Gujjar and Bakerwal Foundation, engaged in a pivotal meeting with Mr. Javid Ahmad Matoo, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South Kashmir, at his office.
During this meeting, Choudry Farooq Ahmad Bajad brought to the forefront critical issues affecting the Gujjar and Bakerwal communities. The discussion covered unresolved criminal cases, pending FIRs involving community members, the alarming unemployment rate among the youth, challenges faced by disabled individuals, the troubling rise in child labor, and the increasing concern over drug trafficking.
In response, DIG Javid Ahmad Matoo reaffirmed his commitment to addressing these pressing concerns. He assured Mr. Bajad that the police force is actively working to resolve these matters and will intensify efforts to ensure justice and safety within the community.
Following this meeting, Choudry Farooq Ahmad Bajad met with Dr. Bilal Ahmad Bhat, the National Media Coordinator for Dabastan E-India Gujjar and Bakerwal Foundation, to brief him on the discussions and the assurances provided by DIG Matoo.
